Diploma in Financial Services

Course Structure

The Diploma in Financial Services course offers the following subject units:

  • Introduction to Financial Services (core)
  • Economic Environment
  • Legal Environment*
  • Legal Environment-England & Wales*
  • Basic Accounting and Taxation
  • Banking Operations
  • Sales and Service
  • Team Development
  • International Services
  • Call Centre Operations
  • Introduction to Marketing
  • Credit Union Practice

In addition candidates can also study the following units from the Regulated Qualification Framework and these will count as credits towards the Diploma in Financial Services:

  • ApEx 1 - UK Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics
  • General Insurance Certificate

To be awarded the full qualification "Diploma in Financial Services" it is necessary to pass six of the above subjects and one of these must be "Introduction to Financial Services".

* Candidates may register for Legal Environment either under the Scots legal system, or under the law as it applies in England and Wales. Candidates will be examined according to the jurisdiction which they choose upon registration. Please note that only one version may be counted as a credit towards a qualification.
