Certificate in Investment Planning (CIP) The CIP qualification is primarily aimed at anyone who is involved in giving financial advice to clients, including independent financial advisers and tied agents. It would also be very relevant for those who are involved in a non-advice giving role, e.g. financial services back-office staff. The regulation of investment advice has been a feature of UK financial services for many years and the FSA rules require financial advisers to have passed 'appropriate' examinations - completion of the CIP qualification fulfils this requirement. Candidates are required to pass the following three examinations in order to complete this qualification.
CIOBS is pleased to offer this qualification across the UK, with the multiple choice examinations being conducted on-line at an increasing number of centres. Upon completion, candidates may also apply for Professional Financial Adviser (PFA) status. This clearly and visibly confirms the individual's knowledge and understanding of investments and their advice-giving capabilities - it also demonstrates professionalism to both colleagues and customers alike. The qualification can also provide access with credit towards our prestigious Chartered Banker award. The CIOBS Academy provide an extensive range of study support to students undertaking this qualification. To see how the Academy can assist you in achieving your goal, just click here. |
