Certificate in Financial Services

The Certificate in Financial Services is aimed at anyone who wishes to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Financial Services Industry. The qualification is designed to give candidates an understanding of the Financial Services Sector and the environment in which it operates.

Candidates must complete three subjects including the core unit Introduction to Financial Services from the menu. Candidates can select subjects from the menu to meet their current job needs or future career aspirations. The Certificate is available to candidates employed within the Financial Services sector and to candidates who are thinking of a career in the sector. The Certificate is available for final year students in some secondary schools in Scotland.

The Certificate in Financial Services is a self-study course which is focused on distance learning workbooks supported by the Academy team who provide mentoring services, introductory courses, telephone helpline and e-mail support. Where the Certificate in offered through a secondary school additional support is usually provided by the school.

The Certificate is assessed by final examination consisting of 100 multiple choice questions and candidates must score 60% or above to pass. All the examinations are available on our on-line assessment system offering regular testing with instant results throughout the UK. As part of the support package for students the Institute offers an on-line mock examination site where students can test their knowledge of a subject and receive feedback of their performance before taking the final examination.

On completion of the Certificate in Financial Services candidates can progress to the Chartered Banker programme.
