The Tartan of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland

The CIOBS tartan is based on the sett of the Davidson clan tartan as the first President of the Institute was Mr David Davidson. Clan MacMunn is the clas of the Institute's current Chief Executive, Prof Charles W Munn OBE, and it is a sept of the Stuart of Bute clan so the design incorporates parallel lines which feature in the Stuart of Bute clan tartan.

The Institute's corporate colours of blue and gold have been represented, and in recognition of Mr Bill Black, President from 2001-2003, the colour black features strongly within the design. Finally, as the oldest banking Institute in the world the colour silver has been included to signify the link with money and the financial world.

The exclusive Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland tartan was designed in 2002 by Kinloch Anderson.

The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland tartan has been registered with The Scottish Tartans World Register.
